United We Stand!

Ha. I knew I was on to something.

Back to reality, oh here comes gravity...

And, you know you're lame when you quote Eminem lyrics (who you never listen to) and have to check to make sure they're right online (because you're not really sure). Anyway.

So, back from Baltimore. Frankly, a busy but most excellent family weekend. No fights, no drama, just good ol' family fun. And the Boyf got along smashingly with everyone. Hooray! And we got to spend a whole weekend of quality time together, sans-technology. I don't even think we checked our email all weekend. Sadly, there's something liberating about that.

And, with returning from Baltimore comes a renewed panic about finals. Yes, this week kicks off finals week - insert Christmas music here - it's the most wonderful time of the year.... oh wait, no. Basically, if we can make it through the next two weeks, it'll be a LONG awaited Winter Break. Full of journal acc-checks and a summer job search, but still, no more Evidence!!

Back to all my should-be-studying....i.e. watching Sex and the City reruns on FOX. Yep.

Impending Family Drama

Why study for finals when you can update your new little blog? Exactly.

Well, the Boyf and I are off to Baltimore for family-related-goings-on this weekend. We've been "barely" speaking, so it'll be interesting to see how this goes.

Frankly, most of this stems from the fact that he is downright refusing to get a damn haircut for the event. After freely admitting that he needed one, now that I've suggested it.....oh, well, there's no way it's going to happen. Lovely.

If this wasn't the first time he's meeting MY ENTIRE EXTENDED FAMILY, I probably wouldn't care. And maybe I shouldn't care. I love him, shaggy-hair and all, so my family should too. But the fact that he doesn't even recognize that this event means a lot to me and won't go out of his way ONE TINY BIT TO GET A STUPID HAIRCUT AND NOT LOOK HOMELESS is really irritating me.

So, deciding to end the two-day silence we'd been enjoying, I tried to explain all this to him.

His response: "You do realize I'm flying to Baltimore with you for an entire weekend two days before my LAW SCHOOL FINALS because this is important to you, right?"

Damnit.

Boyf - 1. Me - 0. For now.

In the beginning...

Hi there. Welcome to my life.

We all need a means to escape, somewhere to go to away from school, life, family, whatever. For me, I enjoy shopping, going out with my girlfriends, working out, and, above all, spending precious time with my oh-so-darling boyfriend.

The Boyf? He loves his Xbox360. Loves it. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVES it. To the point where he doesn't answer the phone, answer a text, answer an IM for HOURS on end because he's so involved in an online game of Gears of War with a 12 year old in California.

So, to occupy my hours of free time sitting in his apartment waiting him to get "just one more kill, baby!" before we can go out....now I have an outlet to share my thoughts with you, dear reader.

Am I being a bitchy, whiny, jealous girlfriend? Should I be thankful he's interested in a stupid game as opposed to chasing tail all over town? Maybe. But I don't care. I can't take it anymore. F*ck the Xbox.

Happens to the best of us...
